There will be at least once or twice in your life when you will be able to visit the gambling Mecca of the world called Las Vegas. Before you could even lay a foot on Las Vegas soil, let me tell you about a few tips that you would most likely find most beneficial. It would not be enough if you would take it from another tourist who has only been to Las Vegas once or twice because it takes someone who knows the ins and the outs of the place to really be called Las Vegas hustler.

You do not have to take all the advices that I have to give if you think that it is not applicable for you tour but then try to remember these basic but important details.

If in case you decide to play in the poker table and the other games in Las Vegas casinos, do not forget to tip the dealer with at least $5 per hour. If you are the drinking gambler type of person, tip the cocktail waitresses $1 for each drink or even two so she would make sure to give you some extras on the side while she is at it. Try not to be a freeloader and a cheapskate in Las Vegas as much as possible if you want the comfort of everything. If you disagree, perhaps Las Vegas is not for you.

There will always be a lot of comps around the casinos so do not ever forget to ask for them. The most common form of comps would be buffets, show tickets, or room discounts when you get to play the slot machine or some table games in the casinos. If you need some real and quick information on how to claim these prizes, you might have to ask the player's club booth (slot players) or at the tables (table players).

Instead of taking the taxi cab, take the bus. It would only cost $2 from the airport up until the South Strip where the MGM Grand, NY NY, Luxor and Tropicana are all located. If you have no idea what bus to ride on, be on the look out for Westcliff Express bus and you can be sure that you will get straight to your destination in no time. If you need a ride from the airport up to the Stratosphere or downtown, you can take the #108 for cost $2. By the way, you could also pay $7 for a 24-hour pass. You will get to ride any bus for free the following day if you do.

If in case you would prefer to take a taxi cab instead, you would have to take one by the taxi area. You cannot just hail a taxi cab along the strip. They will never stop at you there because they are not allowed to do so. You could also save some serious money if you could get someone to share a cab with you.

A taxi cab can fit up to 4 passengers so never be ashamed to yell out "Anyone want to split a cab to (casino)?". That way, you could all share the fare and save gas at the same time.
